Please read these terms carefully before using Old School Chess. By accessing or using the site, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Old School Chess (oldschoolchess.com), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the service.

Use of the Service

Old School Chess provides chess learning content, interactive tools, puzzles, and AI-powered coaching. You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.

You may not:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service
  • Use automated systems to access the service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use
  • Reproduce or redistribute site content without permission

User Accounts

Some features require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Subscriptions, Billing, and Refunds

Old School Chess Premium is a paid subscription available on monthly or annual billing terms. Prices, billing frequency, and any applicable free trial period are shown at checkout before you subscribe. Payments are processed securely by Stripe or PayPal, depending on the payment method you choose at checkout.

Free trials. New subscriptions may include a free trial (currently 7 or 14 days, chosen at checkout). A valid payment method is required to start a trial. Your trial converts to a paid subscription automatically at the end of the trial period, and the exact date of your first charge is shown on the checkout screen before you confirm. You will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends.

Renewals. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same term unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can cancel at any time in your account portal at no additional cost. When you cancel, you keep full access to Premium until the end of the period you have paid for, and you will not be charged again.

30-day money-back guarantee. If Premium is not for you, email us at professor@oldschoolchess.com within 30 days of the start of your free trial (or within 30 days of your first payment if your subscription did not include a trial) and we will refund your first charge in full. The 30 days count from the day your trial starts, not from the day you are first charged. The guarantee applies once per customer and covers the first charge of your first subscription only.

Refunds after 30 days. Outside the money-back guarantee, payments already made are non-refundable, and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused time, except where a refund is required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at professor@oldschoolchess.com and we will review your case.

Your statutory rights. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights or guarantees that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

Price changes. If we change subscription pricing, the new price will apply from your next billing period and we will notify you before it takes effect.
